Want to use morebutter.net, but don't always have access to an internet connection? Now you can, with the morebutter.net standalone application. This application, powered by MicroWeb, includes an apache web server, a mysql database engine, and a php interpreter so that you can run the web app right on your local machine. We are using a free version of MicroWeb, which results in you seeing a brief system message to that effect when you start it up.
First Time Instructions:
1. Download the most recent version of the Standalone App.
2. UnZip the files
3. Double-click the "microweb.exe" icon in the morebutter.microweb folder.
Update Instructions: To periodically update (a) the latest features available in the online version, and (b) the most current data.
1. Download the latest web files and/or data release(s) - available below.
2. UnZip the files.
3. Web files: Replace the morebutter.microweb/htdocs/ folder with the one from the zip file
4. Data file: Replace the morebutter.microweb/mysql/data/ folder with the one from the zip file
5. Quit your browser if you are currently running the standalone app, and restart by double clicking the microweb.exe icon.
CD Instructions: Once you've done the above, you can burn the application/files onto a CD. Simply record a data disc with the contents from the morebutter.microweb folder. If you place the contents on the disc without the parent folder, the disc will be self executing; if you do not, you can run the program by opening the parent folder and double-clicking the "microweb.exe" icon.
System Requirements: 32 bit Windows only. We're trying to find an equivalent for Mac users (it might work under Virtual PC, but I haven't tried).
